ReplyDeleteThis picture reminds me of when I learned how to knead dough in Foods class during our bread unit.
ReplyDeleteThis picture depicts an older women, perhaps a mother holding the hand of a younger child. This implies to me that the "older" generation needs to instruct the younger generation of the values, traditions, and religious beliefs necessary for a strong vibrnat society. The "older" generation educating the "younger" generation of where we have come from as a society and where we are going can be a great legacy.
ReplyDeleteReminds me of teaching my daughter to use a computer. Many children know a lot about computers before they start school. What they know and how they use it will often set paterns for the rest of their lives, especially playing computer games. Educators need to support parents of preschoolers in beneficial uses of computers

The world opens up in front as one looks out, somewhat intimidated, but curious and ready to explore. My experience brought me opportunities and excitement, but sometimes frustration and concern that it was too much to conquer. In the long run, one step led to another and the exploration, I hope, still continues.
This picture reminds me of when I first started school I had just come out of the hospital after a few operations I was like a bird grounded. I was teased everybody about my epileptic condition. It didn't start getting better until I was in grade 10, finally I could flap my wings like a bird and soar and now I'm so successful that I'm on my way to getting my high school diploma.
ReplyDeleteThe possibilities are endless, but what comes to mind is, what you cast out upon the water, will come back to you on every wave!
ReplyDeleteThis reminds me of our heritage. When I went to school we did not have Catholic, Private Christian Schools, Muslim Schools, etc. We all shared some common values and respected each other's traditions. I hope we can keep some common values for the good of society, that come from our heritage and pass them on to all of our children regardless of our beliefs. We need alternate curriculum, programs and programs so that various groups can have their values respected and children taught from their heritage perspective.
