When I think of learning in 20 years, I hope that it will be just as good as when I was in school. I would hope that schools would be safe places for children and teens to learn unhindered. I would also hope that students are being brought up in an environment that helps and encourages them to be involved in the community.

  3. When I think of learning 20 years form now it does not matter what cources you took or what grades you had those things are important but 20 years from now it does not matter if you were in Math honors and had 90% or if you were in Math 24 and have a 23%. The things that matter are being able to think Critically, read, write, do basic math, be able to work well with others and have practical skills for living on your own.

  4. When I think of learning in 20 years, I hope that each child will be able to have a safe environment for learning and that bullying will be a word of the past. I think that students will need to communicate effectively with other cultures.

  5. When I think of learning in 20 years, I hope you are able to be involved with YOUR childrens' education - in understanding and helping them understand, in knowing where to and not being afraid of asking for help, in encouraging open-mindedness, in encouraging a love for learning, in embracing individualism.

  6. To my grandchildren:May 21, 2009 at 6:20 PM

My dear grandchildren - your world will be different from mine, and you will value it like I do, nevertheless. I hope your learning is based on opportunities to think creatively and critically about the realities of facts and the challenges that have emerged between now and then. I hope that your learning gives you solid roots, a foundation for moving onward, wings to lift you so you can see the world in exciting but objective ways, and teachers who will encourage you to engage with your world to help you play a meaningful part in your world. I hope that you have opportunities to try ideas, test them with others and sort out for yourself what is truly essential to move you to the next leg on your journey. Life is a process, not an event, and your learning should be like climbing a hill - go a few steps up the hill at a time - take in the view - you can see farther from each new height. Take care on the journey.

  7. When I think of learning im 20 years I think that students should should treat special needs students with more respect and that the teachers should treat the special needs students like all of the others, don't treat them as if they're a small child. Each class should be an hour long and that includes lunch too. There should be more "working" computers in the libraries and the libraries should also have self-checkout so that the librarinas can do the work they actually need to do. It should also be mandatory for all Alberta high schools to have weight rooms in the school since I'm noticing a lot of obese students these days.

  8. When I think of learning in 20 years, I hope there will better alternative programs and resources so that your children can be taught values and history from the perspective of our heritage and that all children will be taught values that uplift society rather than tear it down or just entertain.
